Privacy Policy
Last updated 21 August 2026
Velour lets you photograph your wardrobe, try garments on virtually, plan outfits and share the looks you choose to share. This policy explains exactly what we collect, why, how long we keep it, and how you get rid of it.
What we collect
- Account details. Your email address, display name and password hash. If you sign in with Google we receive your email, name and profile picture from Google — never your Google password.
- Photos you upload. Photos of yourself and of garments, which you choose and upload yourself. Velour never reads your camera roll in the background; images reach us only through a picker or camera capture you start.
- Generated images. The try-on results Velour produces from your photos.
- Content you create. Outfits, calendar entries, captions, likes and comments.
- Technical logs. IP address, timestamps and error diagnostics, kept for security and debugging.
What we do not collect
Velour does not collect location data, contacts, call or message logs, advertising identifiers, or biometric templates. We do not run third-party ad networks or analytics SDKs, and we do not sell or rent personal data to anyone.
How your photos are used
Your photos are used for one purpose: producing the try-on and styling results you ask for. To do that, images are sent to Google's Gemini and Vertex AI services, which perform the generation and return a result. Google processes them as a service provider under its own terms.
Your photos are not used to train any model of ours, are not shown to other users, and are not published anywhere unless you explicitly share a look to the public feed.
What is public and what is private
- Private by default. Your wardrobe, your uploaded photos and your generated try-ons are visible only to you.
- Public only by your action. A look becomes visible to other users only when you share it. You can unshare it at any time, which removes it from the feed.
- Your display name and profile picture are visible on anything you share publicly.
Storage, retention and security
Data is stored on our servers and transmitted over HTTPS. Sessions use bearer tokens held in your device's local storage, not third-party cookies. We keep your data for as long as your account is open. Delete an item and it is removed from your account immediately; deleted files are purged from backups within 30 days.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account from Settings inside the app, or by emailing us at the address below. Deletion removes your account, uploaded photos, generated images, outfits and shared posts. It cannot be undone. Security logs may persist for up to 30 days.
Your rights
You can access, correct, export or delete your personal data, and withdraw consent at any time. Where the GDPR applies, our lawful basis is performance of our contract with you (running the service) and your consent (processing your photos). Where the CCPA applies, we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined.
Children
Velour is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.
Permissions the app requests
- Camera — only when you choose to photograph a garment or yourself.
- Photos and media — only to let you pick an existing image to upload.
- Internet — to reach Velour's servers.
Changes
If this policy changes materially we will notify you in the app before the change takes effect. The date at the top always reflects the current version.
